Movement Works

Physiotherapy

Using advanced techniques and evidence-based care, Physiotherapists assess, diagnose, treat and prevent a wide range of health conditions and movement disorders. Physiotherapy helps repair damage, reduce stiffness and pain, increase mobility and improve quality of life.. You do not require a doctor's referral to see a Physiotherapist unless your insurance provider requires one for reimbursement.

Pelvic Health Physiotherapy

This is a type of Physiotherapy care for patients with incontinence/leaking, pelvic pain, difficulty or pain with intercourse, perinatal needs, postoperative challenges or any other issues pertaining to Pelvic Health. Please do not hesitate to call us at 905-802-1317 if you would like to confirm whether this type of appointment is appropriate for you.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy consists primarily of hands-on manipulation of the soft tissues of the body, specifically, the muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints for the purpose of optimizing health.

I have more than 25 years’ experience as a Registered Massage Therapist and management in fitness, education and health care fields. I am passionate about how the body works and how muscle tension can impact movement and function. I love working with clients to help to improve function and lifestyle utilizing hands on treatment, exercise/stretching programs and collaborating with other health care professionals where indicated.

When I’m not treating, I’m playing pokemon, making costumes or working on increasing my overall geek level.

I am looking forward to helping you toward your active lifestyle goal.

I love how the body works, how muscles adapt, and how everything is so integrated and harmonious. I care when someone is in pain or doesn’t feel able to do the things they need or love to do.

Movement Works operates with one driving focus: creating results that are obvious from the very first visit. I have extensive training and have continuously upgraded my skills in order to be the most effective I can be. Results matter!

My treatment style is grounded in Manual Therapy and complemented by Acupuncture where needed. This approach allows me to effectively treat pain and dysfunction, then design an exercise program to complement the care I have provided between visits.

It would be my pleasure to help you meet your goals.

My favourite thing about being a Physiotherapist is helping my patients regain control over their bodies. Much of the frustration surrounding injuries and dysfunction can be boiled down to control … or lack thereof. While it is normal at first to be fearful of activities causing pain, it doesn’t take long before pain and dysfunction begin to control our lives.

As a Physiotherapist, it is my job to help you feel better. Manual Therapy, soft tissue techniques and/or acupuncture can decrease your pain and increase your mobility. However, the most effective part of my job includes giving you targeted exercises and lifestyle changes, which usually make a lasting impact and give you more control.

Whether you are a Pelvic Health patient with incontinence/pain, an athlete with a sprain, or a person with a stiff joint, I love helping you feel engaged in the process. Education is key. It is important to me that we spend time assessing and understanding what is happening with your body, and how we go about fixing it together as a team. When we both take responsibility in the recovery process, the likelihood of success is better!

Thank you in advance for trusting me with your care.
